The GTNC is an open organization, not affiliated to any one institution or individual. As such, any interested individual that is determined to be capable of contributing meaningfully to the goals of the GTNC may become a member.
All new GTNC research projects are discussed and decided upon within the consortium. Final decisions regarding project suitability rest with the founding committee. Decisions regarding ownership of generated data will be determined within the consortium before studies begin. All new GTNC research projects must have a designated project leader, who will be agreed upon by members of the GTNC. The project leader will have primary responsibility for ensuring that the project is conducted as planned and will serve as the main contact person for the project. The project leader will make final decisions regarding authorship, authorship order and intellectual property of the project. At the discretion of the project leader, members of the project may be allowed to present findings from the project.
All GTNC-related works, including presentations and publications, must include an acknowledgement of the GTNC.
